Despite the Footloose remake not released and producers unable to see how well 80's remakes go (and the answer would be, not that well,) there are still plans to go forward. Ortega, who choreographed the first 1987 film, says that "it feels like returning home" and that "Swayze set the bar for men dancing in films...I'm looking forward to assemble a cast to bring Dirty Dancing to a new generation."
I have a few things wrong with that sentence, mainly the new generation thing. Dirty Dancing does not need to be brought to a new generation. It is already there. If you want it to gain more fans and bus, re-release it in cinemas, show it on telly. It still has strength and gusto in it as it is a classic! It will never die!
Let's hope this whole debacle wont consider any Twilight or Disney Channel stars, I don't think my brain could cope.
It's already leaking as we speak.
